Mastering Weight Loss: The Simple Truth About Calories

Most of us have weight that we’d like to use. Try as we might, we just never seem to be able to actually do it. We might lose a few pounds but can’t move past that. Or worse yet, we gain back any weight that we lost and feel like the whole thing is hopeless. It doesn’t help that when you go online for guidance, you are bombarded with so many mixed messages. One source is telling you to avoid all carbs while another says high carb vegan is the way to go. You try to implement the workout routines you see others do, but with little or no success.

I was just like you. For years I battled with the same weight and could never seem to reach my ultimate goal. After years and years of trial and error, I finally was able to narrow down what actually works. When you really get down to it, weight loss is actually very simple. It’s the media that tends to complicate things and make it all confusing. That is why I wanted to share with you all the true key to weight loss. This is all you’ll ever need to know to finally reach your goals without wasting time and while still enjoying your favorite foods too.

Brace yourself because you might not want to hear this. But the key to weight loss is…calories in, calories out. Now before you click out of this article, just hear me out. I too had tried the vegan diets. I tried keto, Paleo, cutting out my favorite foods, high protein, green smoothie cleanses, and so much more. They might seem to work for a bit and then stop altogether and you wonder what’s going wrong. The truth is, the only reason why they seem to work is because you were in a calorie deficit for that short time. It stopped working because you no longer are in one. That is why you can hear of people who say they work out all the time and yet do not lose any weight. That is because, they are not in a deficit. They are going home and eating back the calories they burned off. Now, before you become discouraged because this wasn’t the answer that you wanted, let me tell you why it’s actually so liberating and freeing.

With calorie counting, you get to decide how fast you want to lose weight or how much food you get to eat during your journey. If you’re someone like me and rather see results faster, then you can lower your calories and start seeing the pounds drop quickly. Or if you don’t care to do it fast and you’re more concerned about having a lot more food to eat, then you can do just a small deficit. That way, you get to eat more and still make progress.

The number one thing I love about calorie counting is that you are guaranteed to see results! No more guessing if what you’re doing is going to make a difference or not. If you are not tracking your calories, you are ultimately just shooting in the dark, hoping you hit your aim. Why waste that precious time and energy when you can guarantee yourself results each and every week? No more wasting time. You’ll actually be able to set a time line for when you want to reach your goal, and you can actually reach it too.

With calorie counting, you can also decide how much you’ll workout on your fitness journey. If you rather not do any working out at all or if you just want to walk for exercise, you can do that. You can factor in how active you’d like to be and still see results. That means you can get down to your goal weight without having to kill yourself at the gym doing a workout that you hate.

You can still eat your favorite foods, you can choose how intense you want to workout (even if it’s not at all) and you are guaranteed to see results. After reading about all of these positive benefits, why wouldn’t you want to try calorie counting out? I know many people feel like its a hassel to track their food, but honestly, with all the apps out there, it really is not that much of an inconvenience at all. I personally like to use the My Fitness Pal app. It is free and you can customize the calories to your choosing. I then use this calorie calculator to figure out how many calories I need. The thing is too, that you can play around with the numbers. If you’re still feeling too hungry or lethargic, try increasing your calories by 50 or 100. If you’re still not feeling well, try increasing again. Or you can do the opposite. If your weight loss is going too slow or you’re not seeing any changes, try dropping your calories by 100 and see what that does for you. It’s good to know the calories you need for yourself because you will also need to know how much you need to then maintain your new lower weight.

Trust me, it gets easier the more you do it. These calorie counting apps will even start to remember frequent meals or foods you eat and will suggest them to you much quicker. Before you know it, it’ll only take 30 seconds to one minute to log in your food. You’ll soon see that it’s not an inconvenience at all, especially because it’s bringing you closer to your dream body each and everyday!

Next week we’ll talk about what workout I recommend for weight loss. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the same advice that you’ll see online right now. ✨
